Merry Christmas. Kala Xristougenna to all Greeks and philhellenes.
Macedonians are on the Church Calendar, Aggie.

So, January 7th on the civil calendar, most of Orthodoxy has
Christmas.

Merry Christmas to EVERYONE, whatever calendar you follow.

So many things wrong with this post.

First of all, "Macedonian" is not an ethnicity. It refers to a region,
most of which is within Greece. In Greek Macedonia, the Orthodox
celebrate Christmas on Dec. 25th. Furthermore, the breakaway
"Macedonian" Orthodox Church in the Former Yugoslav Republic of
Macedonia is unrecognized and uncanonical.

There is no such thing as a "Church" calendar. The Orthodox use either
the Julian calendar, or the "modified" Julian calendar (Gregorian for
the fixed feasts and Julian for the movable feasts), depending on the
particular jurisdictioon.

To claim that "most" of Orthodoxy celebrates Christmas on the civil
Jan. 7 is misleading. Yes, if you count the entire population of
Russia as being Orthodox, that's true. But the number of actual
Orthodox believers in Russia is much less than that. Certainly, in the
U.S., considering that the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese dominates in
numbers, "most" Orthodox celebrate on the New Calendar.

You're one of those converts who consider themselves more Orthodox
than the cradle Orthodox themselves.
